Learning, improving, admitting things are always hard. As humans, it takes us a long time to be able to open up and let others judge us or help us; that is the fear. We sometimes do things without thinking of what it can do to others or to ourselves. We do these things because we don’t want to deal with the fact that something is different, that somethings are just not the same; not anymore.
This series, created by Chinaka Hodge was about a young woman, Riri Williams; who is the next bright prodigy of her generation. She is played by Dominique Thorne and is a character that a very conflicted, very alone, and sometimes even empty inside. The things that have happened to her, the deaths, the murders, the new changes are rocking her world. Just like any other, we defend ourselves; form barriers and disconnect from others to be able to control the safety that is being threatened. It’s sometimes this very irrationality that brings us into harmful and unexpected situations.
Riri got herself kicked out of MIT, the home of her operations and her job for many years. She has resorted to other means to be able to do her work and she ended up making a very bad mistake while creating and replacing her past AI. She created the most advanced, human copy of her brain, to make an AI that can simulate our humanity almost exactly.
By creating this, she gets even more inspired and stars looking for others that can help her fund her projects; get her money, parts, to be able to actually continue the legacy of the greatest mind of earth-Tony Stark.
Her new crime boss, the hood, played by Anthony Ramos, is someone way more dark than he seems. He is in tune with a very powerful item that gives him powers. Abilities that can let him see the future, let him go invisible, curve bullets and immense strength. And when he sees that she doble-crossed them in one of their missions, his plan for revenge kicks in.
Her entire family was in danger, she didn’t know what to except give up. And in that deepest moment, she opens up to her mother, the one who has always been there. This moment where locked emotions finally bloom and make connections is precisely what let her win in the end. For this is when she gathers the team, to make her suit unstoppable. She makes a new suit, a suit that can use magic to be able to fight.
But when that battle was over, she didn’t excpect someone else to come out of the blue. She thought that the Hood was it and nothing else. That his threat was all she had to worry about, but that was not the case. For she met with one of Marvel’s greated and most powerful villans in all of the world. A being that terrorized beings like the Scarlet Witch. A being that could take on Dormammu himself. A powerful demon, son of Satan himself.
The deal he made with her was not the end, for she is now running a new story. A story of villany, a story of much regret, a story where her desire rules over rationality.
Truly jadwdroping and the Elite I had to put here.
