To win is to overcome yourself. The ultimate adversity is
blocking oneself from believing that one can do or complete
their "dream." That is what Yoh Yoshinari wants to teach us in
this beautiful anime. One always has hope and the ability to do
what your heart intends. There is always an option that will
present itself with your dream tagged behind it. It's up to
you, to choose and trust in the opportunity and be able to
achieve your dreams.
"Akko," who is played by Megumi Han and Erica Méndez has,
from a very young age, been a fan and admirer of the performer
Shiny Chariot. She is a witch who carries the most powerful
magical object in the entire world, the shiny rod. With this
instrument, she is able to make wonderful and amazing shows
that enthrall the world in the amazingness of magic. Although
her looks and her shows may be perceived as entertainment
and joyful, they carry a curse that steals everyone’s hope
of doing magic from that ability.
Our young human girl had the dream of becoming a witch, ever
since she knew of Shiny Chariot. This performer was such a
powerful force, that it brought many humans to fall in love with
magic. Although Akko loved magic with all her heart, she
could never perform it. But for some reason, she would never
give up. And so, she tried and tried, until she was able to reach
the school of magic, but soon saw that nothing there was going
to help her be able to perform magic. In a desperate
attempt to find a way, she goes to the forbidden forest, where
Shiny Chariot found her magic rod. The rod only chooses the pure
of heart, and it ends up appearing to her in the most desperate
of moments. In the moment of near death, she puts her trust in
the rod, and her magic flows through for the first time.
That rod not only chose you for fun, but it carried a mission with
it. Find all the spells of the rod, unite the stars, and unite the
world. Little did she know that the rod carried the same desire
Shiny Chariot carried with her, to bring happiness to the world.
The only thing was that the rod has never actually been
completed, none of the chosen through history have ever been
able to complete the spells and unite the world. Not even
Chariot was ever able. That is when we know how and why
Chariot never completed the mission, why such a "great and
good" witch with such capability, was never able to finish the
job.
Chariot was not very powerful, so she sought it in an attempt to
be able to complete the rod's spells. This desire for power,
joined by a "friend" with nothing but jealousy was a formula to
create a spell that acquired power through the stealing of dreams
in others. The Dream fuel spell was the cause for thousands to
lose their ability in magic, this includes our little Akko. Thus the
rod looked for someone who could overcome the worst of
adversities, someone who could unite the world no matter what.
And though Akko was heartbroken to hear her hero stole
her purpose in life, she saw the completion of this mission to
unite the world more important.
And thus, with magic being an inherent ability, and the
lack of training, she still saw a possibility in her friends. The order
of the nine old witches were formed again, and the very purpose
of the rod was found in them. With the help of every single one,
they were able to defeat the enemy and bring the world together
to form the final spell and complete the rod and its mission.
Her adversity didn't become a problem because she saw her
power in other things. Her friends and their abilities became a
formula to complete the rod and bring happiness to the world.
Shiny Chariot saw that the responsibility and completion of the
rod fell on herself, while the entire point was to be able to see
past the rod and reach to others. The rod taught us that if we
truly wanted the world to have happiness and be united, we need it
in ourselves first.
It will give your mind a reminder that hope still exists, that no
matter what is going on in your life, you are not alone. Thank you
Yoh Yhoshinari for bringing this to my life.
